Volunteers
One of the most exciting parts of serving in the children’s ministry is seeing the children’s faces light up as God’s Word is taught and answers to their questions are being resolved. The kids love to hear the Bible come alive, and sing songs that are not only fun and exciting but also worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Whether it is from the drama, music, teaching, crafts, or simply rocking a little baby to sleep, there are many ways you can help us proclaim the love of Jesus to the biggest mission field in our church.
Here are ways to volunteer in our ministry:
Lead Teacher
In both our Sunday School and our Wednesday Warriors program there are opportunities to serve the Lord through the children by becoming a lead teacher. The lead teacher is responsible to relate and teach the material provided by the church. Each teacher will receive the necessary training that is needed to do the best job possible. We begin to teach our children at the ripe age of 18 months and extend that through our 6th grade class.
Assistant Teacher (Helper)
To adequately train the kids we would like to have assistants/helpers in each of classrooms and in all the small groups in our Wednesday Warriors program. Having an helper is beneficial in a number of ways, one of which being, to help teach the truths presented by the lead teacher.
Wednesday Night Leader
As noted above, there are great opportunities in our Wednesday Night program to disciple and train kids to know God better, love others, and serve in love. This is a weekly commitment that runs from September through May.
Nursery Volunteer
One of the ways to serve in our CM is by volunteering in the nursery. Holding, rocking and caring for the babies is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our newest addition in the church. Our volunteers commitment to one Sunday per month.
Substitute Volunteer/Teacher
Substitutes are needed for those who (for whatever reason) cannot make it to their ministry obligation. The Centennial Kids staff has a running list of volunteers who would like to commit to ‘filling in’ when needed.
Volunteer Policy and Procedures
Application Process
In effort to best serve the children, church, and our volunteers, we ask that all our volunteers fill out an application. The purpose of this application is for the CBC staff to get to know the applicant, and to ensure that the applicant is ready to serve in this capacity. The application also shows the applicant what is expected of them in the ministry. You can obtain an application from the welcome center on Sunday mornings, or the church office during the work week. Below you will find a sample of what the application looks like.

Attendance and Absences
We ask that our volunteers make a commitment of faithfulness to whatever ministry they choose to serve in. We are flexible in that area and understand that absences are a normal part of life. All we ask is that the volunteers help us by letting us know their absence as soon as possible so that we can find a substitute.
Background Checks
In effort to provide the safest environment possible, we ask each of our volunteers to agree to have a background check done. There is a form to fill out and Centennial Bible Church handles the rest.
