How can I know God?

The world has a lot of answers to this question. The world says that you can make your own path to God or you can never have a relationship with God. The Bible makes it clear that there is only one way to know God personally. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me.” To really know God (and not just the facts about God) is only through His Son Jesus Christ. That is to say, you must believe that your sins can be forgiven through the death of Jesus on the cross. You must believe that He paid for the penalty of your sin. Also, it is believing with your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. When you make that confession and profession in your heart, then you can know the One true God who loves you, cares for you, and sent His Son to die for your sins.

J.I. Packer says,
“…we are cruel to ourselves if we try to live in this world without knowing about the God whose world it is and who runs it. The world becomes a strange, mad, painful place, and life in it a disappointing and unpleasant business, for those who do not know God.”

Thankfully, God has given us a way to have a relationship with Him… it is through His Son Jesus Christ.
